Since 2001, I have followed classes the studios of Ina van Hoeneveld
in Lekkerkerk. www.atelierlokaal.nl
Most of my work is with acylic painting, but lately I have also started
oil painting. Often I combine different techniques and I frequently have
used collage materials. My work started very colourful.
Three ladies: mixed technique (50 x 80) (foto stuur ik nog op)
This canvas Cambodia representsed three dancing women on the beach in
Scheveningen. Inspiration came from a dance performance . The collage
part was inspired by "El Parque Guell" of Gaudi in Barcelona.
. See photographs below.
My work has become more spatial. This work hangs separately and is
two-sided. In this work I test the space there further finished by
making a breach in the wood and to metal doorheen fly to let.
electricity wires give even more tension to the work. How much can one
work take?
911: Where were you on 11 September 2001? The moment that the
planes entered in the Twin Towers?. The pictures of that drama are in
everybodies mind. This entered in our collective history. This moment
I reflected for the first time during a workshop action painting just
after the event.. Throwing painting throw against the two torens. It
was a way to download my emotions. Action painting is a very powerful
method to express your inner emotions. What did I write down to
friends:
Since I started sculpure, my work has become more basic: less colours
and more attention to form and structure.
For my second exposition to be held in March 2007, I have been inspired
by the fjords in Norway. In the summer holiday of 2006 we have been
there on holiday. Overwhelming nature full with stories of enchanted
lakes and mean trolls. In each cliff and waterfall a story is hidden.
Glaciers and snow peaks, wild streams and quiet vallies. Blue and white
are the colours when I remember Norway.
These transformations from persons to landscape are also evident in
my work.
This journey of art is about communication. Each piece act as a
transmittor, a mirror of higher reality. Although often inspired by images
from photos or observations, the message comes from inside. The speak to
the viewer at a deep level: Art for Change.
